1. Introduction
The ETHGas Foundation respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy describes how we collect, use, and share information when you use the Foundation Interface. We are committed to data minimization and decentralization.
2. Information We Collect
We do not create user accounts or collect contact information (such as names, emails, or phone numbers) for the use of the Foundation Interface.
Blockchain Data:
When you connect your wallet to our Interface, we collect and process:
- Your public wallet address (Ethereum address).
- Transaction data associated with your interaction with the ETHGas protocol.
- Token balance and staking history.
Technical Data:
We may collect limited technical data to ensure site performance, including:
- IP address (strictly for geoblocking compliance and security logging).
- Browser type and version.
- Device information.
3. Analytics & Interface Optimization
To ensure the stability of the ETHGas infrastructure and optimize the user experience and related network services, we utilize third-party analytics tools (specifically Google Analytics). These tools employ "cookies"—small text files placed on your device—to help us analyze aggregate traffic patterns, identify latency issues, and improve interface responsiveness.
Acknowledgement of Use
By accessing and interacting with the ETHGas Foundation Interface, you acknowledge and consent to the collection of this anonymized usage data. This data is strictly limited to interface performance and user navigation metrics.
Managing Your Privacy
We respect your autonomy. If you prefer not to share this performance data, you may disable cookies at any time through your browser settings. Most modern browsers (Chrome, Brave, Safari, Firefox) allow you to block third-party cookies or clear them after each session. Disabling these cookies will not affect your ability to connect your wallet or participate in the protocol, though it may limit our ability to troubleshoot specific UI issues you encounter.
IMPORTANT: Distinction from Wallet Data (Non-Custodial Nature)
It is critical to distinguish between interface analytics and on-chain wallet data.
- Analytics Data: Tracks clicks, page loads, and session duration.
- Wallet Data: Your private keys, seed phrases, and direct control of your assets remain exclusively yours.
We do not—and technically cannot—access, scrape, or store your private keys or initiate transactions without your explicit signature. The ETHGas Foundation remains non-custodial. Analytics cookies are never linked to your private key or cryptographic signature.
4. How We Use Your Information
- Eligibility Verification: We use your public wallet address to query on-chain snapshots to determine your eligibility for Airdrops or Governance voting power.
- Protocol Security: We analyze on-chain data to monitor the health of the staking network.
- Compliance: We use IP addresses to enforce our geoblocking restrictions against Prohibited Jurisdictions.
5. The Immutable Nature of Blockchain
Please be aware that your wallet address and all transactions performed via the Interface are recorded on the public Ethereum blockchain. This data is:
- Public: Visible to anyone.
- Immutable: Cannot be changed or deleted by the Foundation.
- Permanent: Exists as long as the blockchain exists.
By using the Interface, you consent to this public disclosure of your on-chain activity.
6. Third-Party Services
We may use third-party service providers for:
- RPC Nodes: To read data from the blockchain (e.g., Infura).
- Wallet Connectors: To facilitate the connection of your digital wallet (e.g., WalletConnect, MetaMask).
These providers may collect your IP address and wallet address in accordance with their own privacy policies.
7. Your Rights
Subject to the limitations of blockchain immutability, you may request information about the personal data we hold (which is effectively limited to your wallet address logs). To make a request, contact info@ethgasfoundation.org.
